for Television and Radio
GENERAL STATEMENT
A. Description of Department and Programs
The Television and Radio Department offers undergraduate (B.A.) degrees in
television and radio with concentrations in marketing, producing, Television
and Radio production, screenwriting, and Television Radio Studies. There is a B.S.
degree in broadcast journalism offered, as well. Students can minor in the field
as well. M.S. degrees are offered in television and radio and an M.F.A. degree is
available in television production.
B. Languages:
English is the dominant language. Foreign titles are usually not purchased.
C. Geographic Area:
The emphasis of the collection is international.
D. Chronological Limits:
The emphasis is current.
E. Formats of Purchases:
Books, journals, and electronic sources.
F. Materials Excluded:
Audiovisual - (This exclusion is due to budget restraints. Exceptions
can be made if the costs do not interfere with books and journals subscriptions.)
G. Number of Copies:
Usually only one. (Duplicate copies may be needed for required books in a course.)
