There are many internet resources devoted to science that are educational and fascinating. 
Some of the sites are designed to teach users about a topic in a pleasant and entertaining format. 
Some sites are devoted to all aspects of a topic using text, animation and sound to captivate users. 
Others provide links to a wide array of sites on the topic allowing you to choose the depth of coverage you want. 
The following is a sampling of those sites arranged by subject.

Astronomy

For those interested in satellites and how to track their whereabouts. Covers the International Space Station, the Space Shuttle, Iridium and other space flight information. Includes times of visibility, star charts, and relevant graphics.

Information about our Solar System intended for a general audience . A wonderful site for those interested in learning about the planets without wading through a lot of technical jargon.

Endangered Species

ARKive is a not-for-profit initiative of The Wildscreen Trust (www.wildscreen.org.uk). It is a digital library of films, photographs, and associated recordings of over 11,000 species of plants and animals. For many species, the site contains 10 minutes of moving footage, 6 - 10 stills and sound recordings (where appropriate), designed to offer a profile of the species' characteristic behavior and appearance.
