Both Brooklyn College and CUNY maintain a number of online systems that are integral to your academic experience: the BC WebCentral Portal, the CUNY Portal and Blackboard in particular.
BC WEBCENTRAL PORTAL
BC WebCentral is maintained by Brooklyn College and allows one-stop access to BC web applications and services. You can access WebSIMS, WebMail, your degree progress report, class schedules, grades and many other useful tools. BC WebCentral will be continually expanded with the latest services.
Set up your BC WebCentral Portal account
- Go to http://portal.brooklyn.edu or from the College's home page and click on the BC WebCentral Portal button.
- Choose Create a Central ID and follow the steps
- Once created, your new Central ID will give you access to all web applications and services within BC WebCentral.
- IMPORTANT: Please verify your preferred email address at the end of step 4, since this address will be used by the college, and Bb, for all official email communications and grade mailings. You will also be able to change this email from the My Personal Info channel in BC WebCentral.
NB: please wait 48 hours after setting up the BC WebCentral Portal before setting up your Blackboard account!

As of the Spring 2005 semester, Blackboard is accessed through the CUNY portal; account usernames and passwords from previous semesters will not work.
To set up your account:
1. From any internet computer visit the CUNY portal at http://portal.cuny.edu
| 2. Click on the link

(usually your first initial and last name) but you may change this if you wish. After
the user name, select a password (your choice, though it must be at least six
characters, all numbers and letters, no spaces or punctuation) and enter it twice.
Enter your e-mail address as well. This will be made available to your Professor
and fellow students. After checking your information for correctness, click on the
