Proxy Setup Instructions For Students, Faculty and Staff

To use Licensed Resources from the Brooklyn College Library while off-campus you must authenticate (i.e. login) using your BC email ID and password.

When you are off campus and you select any subscription electronic resource from the library that has the icon you will be presented with an authentication page requesting that you login.

On the Login page you will be asked to enter your Brooklyn College Email ID and Password to access subscription electronic databases from off-campus.

Your Email ID is the information before the "@" symbol in your Email Address. For example, the Library's Reference Desk Email is RefDesk@brooklyn.cuny.edu and the ID component is RefDesk.

To obtain your Brooklyn College Email ID and Password

Students: You can get your Brooklyn College Student E-mail username and password online at the BC WebCentral Portal <http://portal.brooklyn.edu/>. In the "My BC Info" tab you will find your student email ID which you must use for proxy. Your proxy password is your student ID number. Faculty & Staff: If you do not have a BC E-mail account, you may download the e-mail application at: http://infotech.brooklyn.cuny.edu/pdf/emailapp.pdf.
