In October 2000 at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic, Barbra Higginbotham lectured at three of China's top ten universities--Tsinghua University in Beijing (China's MIT), and Xi'an and Shanghai Jiaotong Universities--all top-flight institutions with emphasis on the sciences. Once the staff occupy the new Library in the 2001/2002 academic year, Dr. Higginbotham plans to bring Chinese librarians to Brooklyn College as interns, and to send librarians from Brooklyn College to intern in China.
