New Faculty & Professional Staff
Library Faculty
In 1999/2000 two new librarians joined our faculty: instructor Jocelyn Berger (Social
Sciences Specialist) and Assistant Professor Mariana Regalado (Information Literacy
Librarian). Jocelyn Berger collects and provides other specialized services for Economics,
Sociology, and Speech. Mariana Regalado has spent her time launching the Library's new
information literacy program; she also collects for Anthropology. Midway through the fall
1999 semester, Martha Corpus joined the Library staff as a substitute assistant professor
on the line vacated by Elizabeth Miller's retirement. Professor Corpus collects and
provides other specialized services for Education, Physical Education, Political Science, and
Psychology.
Professional Staff
In Academic Information Technologies, Library Café manager Tammy Yeadon (Assistant to
Higher Education Officer) resigned to return to library work and the Café's very capable
evening and weekend manager Suzie Samuel (an Information Systems Aide) was promoted
into her position. We were fortunate to find the talented Robert Parker Gray to take Ms.
Samuel's former position. When the Café became a 24-hour-a-day operation, the role of
the evening and weekend manager increased in importance, and the College is fortunate to
have someone with Mr. Gray's maturity, skills, and good judgment. He came to us from the
New York City government where he ran a technology education program for homeless
people.
In October 1999 Harold Wilson became Head of Audiovisual Services and was appointed as
a substitute College Laboratory Technician. Mr. Wilson has done a fine job of continuing
the legacy of service left to us by his predecessor and mentor Stanley Russell.
Support Staff
On August 15, 2000, Mary Shea Kelly, Assistant to the Chief Librarian, began a child care
leave. She was replaced by Sandra Stumbo, head of the Library's Bindery & Reserves unit.
On February 1, 2001, Mrs. Kelly resigned.
Edythe Rosenblatt began in August 2000 as Special Collections Assistant (CUNY Office
Assistant).
