    Edward Paolella, a well-respected bibliophile and recently retired instructor in the English Department, donated his valuable and extensive personal book collection to the Library. The collection is vast and will continue to make a significant contribution both to the Brooklyn College Library and to the other CUNY units. This year, we received 6319 volumes.

    Howard Golden (150 bankers' boxes)
    When term limits forced popular Brooklyn Borough President Howard Golden from office, we received approximately 150 boxes containing his personal papers. This record group will make a stunning addition to our Local Legislators Collection.

    Una Clarke (35 cubic feet)
    The personal papers of former City Councilwoman Una Clarke came to us via the Carribean Collection. This collection is a boon to our Local Legislators Collection, since Una Clarke's district was in the vicinity of the College and she has been an active and vocal supporter of higher education.

    Charles Glicksberg (15.5 cubic feet) The papers of Charles I. Glicksberg, writer and
    professor of English, contain correspondence, writings, publications, research notes, personal files, and memorabilia.

    Alan Dershowitz (ca. 1,000 boxes)
    Thus far we have received approximately 1,000 boxes containing books, videos, and ephemera from this distinguished professor of law (Harvard) and attorney who is a Brooklyn College alumnus.

    The Kingsborough Historical Society Collection (291 cubic feet)
    Photographs, newspaper clippings, memorabilia and posters related to the history and development of South Brooklyn including Coney Island, Manhattan Beach, Bergen Beach and environs.

    Proust Material (.5 cubic feet)
    Professor Barbara Leslie Gerber, one of the Library's very best friends, donated a first edition of a Proust work, along with a handwritten Proust letter.

    Early Biology Faculty (1.5 cubic feet)
    A graduate student in the Biology Department donated photographs of three female biologists from the Brooklyn College faculty, along with a taped interview of one of the professors.

    Phi Beta Kappa (55 boxes)
    Maurice Kramer from the English Department donated materials related to the history and activities of Phi Beta Kappa.

    Beatrice Seigel (4 boxes)
    Noted author and Brooklyn College alumna Beatrice Seigel donated four boxes of manuscript materials to the archives, adding to her already substantial collection.

    William Alfred Collection (186 boxes of books; theatre programs; other items)
    Rex Dean donated 186 boxes of books from Alfred's personal collection. Mark O'Donnell donated two theatre programs, and Prudence Carlson donated two items from Nora Sayers' private papers relating to William Alfred.
    Southern California Chapter, Brooklyn College Alumni Association (2 boxes) A scrapbook, banner, and other memorabilia documenting the activities of this vibrant alumni chapter were donated to the archives.

    Barbra Buckner Higginbotham Collection
    Dr. Higginbotham donated an heirloom alphabet quilt made by her grandmother Ruth Lorraine Anderson Wilson, 1931. The quilt was restored in the textile laboratory at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and now hangs in the Library's administrative suite.

    Faculty Circle (13 boxes)
    Current Faculty Circle President Paula Whitlock donated 13 boxes of documents to Special Collections.

    Anthony Genovesi Papers (30-plus boxes)
    The papers of former assemblyman Anthony Genovese were donated to the Library. We expect to receive a few more boxes once his secretary completes her search for additional records.

    Material related to the career and research of Brooklyn College Sociology Professor Nishi.

    Papers of Professor Jerome Krase (15 boxes)
    Material related to the research and career of Brooklyn College Sociology professor Jerome Krase.
