The Library now possesses an exceptional art collection, one that is beautiful as well as visually and intellectually challenging. Members of the Library Art Acquisition Committee will continue to review all art gifts offered to the Library. This is a valuable service: we have already attracted two sculpture gifts and more art is sure to be offered. With a world-class collection, it is imperative that we maintain a sound curatorial approach to expansion.
Miriam Deutch has begun to create information labels for all of our works of art, as well as an online catalogue. She is assisted by Jill Cirasella, Slava Polishchuk, Danielle Lahmeyer, and Alex Rudshteyn.
In the coming academic year our lecture series Artists Talk About Art will continue, with presentations by Milton Esterow and some of the artists whose works hang on our walls.
