Scientific journals from developing countries face barriers that limit access to and usage of locally generated scientific information. SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) is a model for cooperative electronic publishing of scientific journals on the Internet. SciELO provides full-text access to up-to-date scientific and technical information published in journals from around the developing world, particularly Latin America and the Caribbean. SciELO journals cover the following subject areas: Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geosciences, Health Sciences, as well as Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences. Articles are accessible in Spanish, Portuguese and/or English.
