The definitive full-text resource for education, containing more than 1,700 full-text journals with coverage dating back to 1929. Users will find indexing and abstracting for thousands of journals; full text for more than 500 books and monographs, as well as for numerous education-related conference papers; and citations for over 4 million articles, including book reviews. Subjects covered range from early childhood education to higher education, and include specialties such as multilingual education, health education, and testing.

This resource includes all content found in Education Index Retrospective, Education Full Text, and Education Research Complete, as well as more than 200 full text journals not previously available in any other database. If you wish to search these databases individually, you can find them on our A-Z list.

The coverage spans the literature on primary, secondary and higher education as well as special education, home schooling and adult education. Many titles are indexed in the ERIC database.

ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and resources to improve practice in learning, teaching, educational decision-making, and research. With an easy-to-use, searchable, Internet-based bibliographic and full-text database, this resource provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. ERIC provides full text of more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from over 1,000 educational and education-related journals. 

NB: Update 3/2014: ERIC has restored online access to more than 21,000 full-text ERIC Document PDFs with publication dates from 2005-2013. These are documents that were previously restricted due to privacy concerns. Restrictions also have been lifted on the release of newly indexed, copyright-cleared full text with publication dates of 2005 or greater. ERIC expects this project to be largely completed (with the possible exception of a few outlier documents) in the summer of 2014.

If you are having trouble accessing the full text of an ERIC Document, request it using Interlibrary Loan. Make sure you have the ERIC Document Number when creating your request. You can also search FDsys here as an alternative if your document was published between 1995 and 2004.

It contains over 3 million citations and summaries dating as far back as the 1600s. The database is international in scope, covering the academic, research, and practice literature in psychology as well as relevant materials from related disciplines such as medicine, psychiatry, education, social work, law, criminology, social science, and organizational behavior.

SAGE Publications is an independent international publisher of journals, books, and electronic media. Users can locate education journals by selecting the Browse by Discipline option, then opening the Social Sciences & Humanites menu. The Chronicle takes the measure of higher education in the 2013-14 Almanac, their annual compendium of data on colleges. The Almanac is divided into the following sections: The Profession, Students, Diversity, Finance, Technology, International, and The States. This publication is loaded with statistics, charts, tables, analyses, and interactive tools.

The primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education. NCES issues numerous publications and datasets each year. These include: early releases, issue briefs, statistical reports, directories, and handbooks of standard terminology.

Many publications report the findings of specific surveys, but at least three--Digest of Education Statistics, Projections of Education Statistics, and The Condition of Education--cover the field of education statistics from a broad perspective.

Tables are constantly being added to this database (close to 4,500 tables, graphs, and figures are now available).

Collects and reports information on student performance at the national, state, and local levels. Assessments are conducted periodically in mathematics, reading, science, writing, the arts, civics, economics, geography, U.S. history, and beginning in 2014, in Technology and Engineering Literacy (TEL). The mission of the Center for Children's Literature is to "create, identify, and advocate for the highest quality literature for all children from infancy through adolescence." This official site provides information about children's literature book awards and best books of the year, BookFest, their Children's Literature Writers Lab, and a link to the library's catalog, which holds over 68,000 children's and young adult books.

Encouraging serious scholarship and research, Children's Literature publishes theoretically-based articles that address key issues in the field. Each volume includes articles, essays, and abstracts of dissertations of note. Children's Literature is the annual publication of the Modern Language Association Division on Children's Literature and the Children's Literature Association (ChLA).
