Bloomberg Professional terminalBloomberg Professional is a premier international financial services data aggregator providing news and analytics for over 129 countries and 250 exchanges. Features include 24-hour historical and 15-minute delayed securities pricing in addition to news, data, and analysis on companies, markets and economies.Through a generous donation by an anonymous donor, Brooklyn College Library is fortunate to offer access to 12 Bloomberg Professional terminals. 

  

Access for Students Access for Faculty

There are four Bloomberg Professional terminals for student use on the lower level in the Current Periodicals room. There are five Bloomberg Professional terminal available on the first floor next to the Reference Desk. More terminals will be installed on the first floor later in the semester.

One Bloomberg Professional terminal is available at the Faculty Training and Development Lab. In addition, a laptop with Bloomberg Professional is available to check out for on-campus teaching purposes.


Usage Policy
Only current students, staff, or faculty can use the Bloomberg Professional terminals. Each user is limited to 60 minutes, and priority is given to School of Business students and faculty.

Creating an Account

  1. Double click on the Bloomberg Professional icon on the desktop screen to start the Bloomberg Professional software.
  2. Select “Create a New Login” on the Bloomberg Professional home screen (below the general login box).
  3. Enter your contact information.
  4. You will need to validate your user name and id either via a text message to your cell phone or by having a Bloomberg customer service representative call you, so please have a cell phone with you.Once your individual login is activated, use it each time you use Bloomberg Professional. If you have any questions please contact the library reference desk on the first floor at 718-951-5628.

Press the green help key twice (2x) to activate a prompt where you can email your question to a Bloomberg representative. The will take up to 24 hours to respond to your question.

 

Workshops 

Every semester the library offers an Introduction to Bloomberg Professional for current students, faculty, and staff:    

The goal of these workshops is to introduce students to the Bloomberg Professional Terminal. You will learn how to create an account, navigate the terminal, understand basic company and industry analysis functions, locate the Bloomberg Certificate online training, and register for in-person trainings and seminars at the Bloomberg's Corporate offices located at 731 Lexington Avenue.
