BRENDA is a collection of enzyme functional data, maintained and developed at the Institute of Biochemistry and Bioinformatics at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. Data on enzyme function are extracted directly from the primary literature.

There are over 13,000 scientific journals on the OSD, the most important collections being Directory of Open Access Journals, BioMed Central, HighWire Press, and PubMed Central.
