Thing to Remember!
  • Many textbooks and other required class texts are reserved for your use in the Reserve Room on the first floor. Please check with your professor to see if he/she has placed items on reserve.
  • Most reserve items are available for use only in the library and only up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Items returned late incur late fees. The fines are $1.20 per hour (for 2-hour loans) or $0.10 per day (for 3-day loans).
  • The Reserve Room has extended hours. (This is quite handy during Finals Week!)

Reserve Room

The Reserve Reading Room serves multiple purposes and is open later than the rest of the Library on most days — particularly during Finals Week. Located on the 1st floor of the Library, to the left of the security guard in the lobby, the Reserve Room is set up specifically for quiet individual study. If you find that you need to collaborate with your friends or classmates, please consider getting a group study room from the Circulation Desk.

The Reserve Room provides 22 computers that are freely available but you are more than welcome to use your personal laptop while there. (You will be able to hook up to the wireless network that is available throughout the Library.) Please be aware that Brooklyn College does not yet support wireless printing. You can, however, print from any desktop PC in the room.

Reserve Material

In addition to the computers and the seating/studying setup, the Reserve Room is also where you go to pick up a book or other material that your professor has placed on reserve.
