"The Library Cafe is Brooklyn College's premiere spot for computer resources, social gathering, study, and relaxation." Lawrence Albrecht, Evening & Weekend Library Cafe Supervisor. The Library Cafe remains extremely popular in the student community. On an average day, 600-800 users sign on to use one of 55 machines. These numbers speak for themselves. During exams, the Cafe plays an especially important role: even at 3:30 in the morning, there can easily be 75-100 students present. On April 27, we were delighted to welcome new Library Cafe Manager Danielle Lahmeyer. Larry Albrecht gets high marks from everyone for his workshops and student handouts. Workshop topics include Computer Basics, MS Word, MS Excel, the Internet, Blackboard, Computer Safety, Creating Your Own Web Site, Usenet & Blogs, and A Look at Macs. In 2004-2005, 76 student workshops were offered. |
