Off-Campus |

Things to Remember!
  • You don't have to be in the Library — or even on campus — to access all of the resources the Library offers! If you're up at 1 AM putting the finishing touches on that paper, you can still log in and find more information.
  • There are 2 ways of accessing a database from off campus:
    (1) Through Brooklyn College, using your BC email ID & password (available via BC WebCentral Portal)
    (2) Through CUNY, using the barcode on the back of your validated & activated CUNY ID card (by clicking on orange CUNY icon next to database name)
  • Just because you're off-campus doesn't mean you're alone! See the Ask-A-Librarian page to find out how to contact a librarian for assistance.

Off-Campus

Off-Campus Access

Online library tools, including OneSearch, the catalog, and article databases, can be accessed from off campus by current BC students, staff, and faculty. That means that when you're at home (or at work or on vacation or anywhere with a computer hooked up to the Internet), you can get access to the same resources available in the Library.

To get started, you will need to access the Library's homepage and choose how you want to do your research. You have the option of using the catalog (for books & e-books), OneSearch (for books, e-books and articles), or accessing a specific database (for articles) from an alphabetical list or by subject.

When using the catalog and/or OneSearch from off-campus, full-text access to e-books and articles will be provided after you have authenticated using your BC email ID and password (see detailed information below).

Databases (like JSTOR) that can be accessed from off campus will have at least one of the following icons next to them:
