Welcome to the LOOP, your online orientation to all that the Brooklyn College Library has to offer. The LOOP introduces you to important Brooklyn College Library services and resources - both in-person and online - including how you can look for books and articles, and how you can get help. Whether you are taking in-person, hybrid, or remote classes, you will be able to take advantage of the Library's resources and services.

We look forward to working with you either in-person or online this semester. The Library building is open, and we will continue to provide services online as well. The building's hours of operation are Mondays through Thursdays 8 AM to 8:45 PM, Fridays 10AM to 4:45 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays 12 PM to 4:45 PM.
While masks are not required in the Library, please be mindful that the pandemic is ongoing. Anyone who would like to continue wearing a mask is welcome to do so.
Cold snacks (eg: granola bar, bag of chips) and covered drinks are permitted in study areas, but there is no hot food or meal eating permitted anywhere in the Library. Only bottled water is permitted while using the computers.
Please respect these policies so we can make the Library a safe, productive and welcoming space for all!
When you are ready, you can click on the quiz link at the bottom of any page to proceed to the English 1010 LOOP quiz. The quiz is available in Blackboard so log into your Blackboard account and then look for the LOOP course under My Courses. Then click on The Quiz! to access the quiz.
In order to satisfy the LOOP requirement for English 1010, you must successfully pass this quiz with a score of 70%. But don't worry! The quiz is open-book -- that is, you can keep the LOOP open in one browser window while you complete the quiz in another window. We are not interested in seeing how well you memorize information. Rather, we want to make sure that you are made aware of everything the Library offers. For this reason, the quiz can be taken as many times as necessary to receive a passing grade.
When you have successfully completed the LOOP quiz, click on "My Grade" in Blackboard. Print out your grade. Bring this printout to the Reference Desk, located on the 1st floor of the Library, to have it stamped by a librarian and to receive a special LOOP gift.
