REASONS:
Brooklyn College is a commuter college it is easier
for most people to carry PDA or PDA-enabled cell phone
versus bulky and heavy laptop. |

The Library as a knowledge hub on campus has the ability
to offer its patrons an online catalog, variety of
databases, and e-journals in addition to the ability
to download search results to PDAs. The Library web
site provides links to other resources that supports
PDAs.
Traditionally most libraries have
been slow to adopt the latest technologies.
We have to catch up with industry
leaders such as online companies who are working hard
to provide services for PDA users.
The Library has to play a significant
role in helping to develop a campus-wide infrastructure
that supports mobile users.
The Library building provides 100%
wireless support, which encourages patrons to use
Wi-Fi enabled PDAs in the Library. Our goal is to
provide students with fast and efficient services
and minimize the time spent away from their studies.
